Uni-N Construction has entered into an agreement with the Japanese-Korean giant Mitsui Chemicals and SKC Polyurethanes Inc (MCNS) to build a plant for the production of polyurethane systems for household appliances and the automotive industry.
Uni-N Construction is the general contractor, general designer and technical customer under the contract.
MCNS (Mitsui Chemicals and SKC PolyurethanesInc) is a company founded by the merger of two large enterprises:
the Japanese petrochemical company Mitsui Chemicals (part of the Mitsui conglomerate), which produces petrochemical products, basic polymers, special-purpose chemical materials;
South Korean SKC PolyurethanesInc (subsidiary of South Korea’s largest consortium SK Group). It produces raw materials for the production of polyurethane and polyhydric alcohols, polyols.
Construction will take place in the special economic zone of the SEZ Novoorlovskaya, St. Petersburg. The company will be provided with a plot of 1.5 hectares, the volume of investments in the project will amount to 539 million rubles.
The project of the new plant involves the construction of a building with a total area of 2850 m2, as well as a logistics infrastructure, including sites for loading and unloading, passing trucks, storing personal vehicles and driving around the site.
The start of construction is scheduled for April 4, 2020.
MCNS plans to launch production in Russia in the second half of 2021.
MCNS will supply high quality products to South Korean and Japanese companies based in Russia, such as Hyundai Motor, Toyota and Nissan.
